Protecting immigrant healthcare access. We will report on a meeting we had on this front with Bridget Devane, policy director at HPAE (Health Professionals and Allied Employees), and possible next steps.
Funding and protection for University Hospital: University Hospital, NJ’s only publicly owned hospital, generally gets the short end of the funding stick in state budget negotiations, and is also at constant threat of private takeover. We will report on the emerging budget battle.
Querying candidates on healthcare policy: We will discuss participating in Families USA’s Stop The Bleed campaign (https://stopthebleed.familiesusa.org/) – – querying candidates on their concrete proposals for reducing healthcare costs and reporting the results.
