MayDay- Make a Difference in Sedona, AZ
MayDay Strong is calling on workers, students, and families across the country to rally, march, and take action on May 1— while participating in a collective pause from business as usual: No Work. No School. No Shopping, except locally owned businesses.
After The March, Sedona, and VOC Indivisibles are jointly offering an opportunity to gather on MayDay and make a difference for those in need in our community.
Join us at Church of the Red Rocks on Friday, May 1st from 10:45 to 12:45 as we partner with Words & Warmth, a volunteer organization that makes handcrafted polar fleece blankets, and scarves for local people in need. No sewing, no experience necessary.
Each handmade blanket includes handwritten words of encouragement for every recipient.
Local organizations that will distribute our blankets include:
– Sedona Food Bank
– SAHA
– Humane Society of Sedona
– CASA- security blankets for foster children to take to court
– SAVCO
– Old Town Mission
– and more..
