May Day is a national day of solidarity and protest — a massive, nonviolent act of economic disruption. Following the example of the historic 2006 Day Without Immigrants and the powerful resistance in Minnesota this past January, the call is the same: No work. No school. No shopping.
But “mayday” is also a distress signal — and this is a moment of distress. The Trump regime has created this emergency: war, rising prices, terrorizing our neighbors, threatening our elections, pillaging our environment, and shredding our safety nets, all while the billionaire class profits from the dismantling of our democracy.
Join us for a May Day Protest in Brunswick and Sutton to show our solidarity! 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. As usual, we will be in the corner of the Safeway Parking lot.
