Battlegrounds 2026: Alaska

Battlegrounds 2026: Alaska

The Trump regime will stop at nothing to subvert the results of the midterms. We’re fighting back with a strategy to win and defend elections in key states, and Alaska is a top priority.

Trump plans to sabotage the midterms. We need a plan to stop him.

As soon as he took office again, Trump signaled he plans to interfere with the 2026 elections. He’s attempted to get rid of mail-in ballots and overhaul election administration via executive order, previewed more intimidation to come by raiding Fulton County, Georgia’s election hub and the Cleveland offices of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, and ordered his fascist buddies in Texas to gerrymander five new GOP House seats ahead of a wave of gerrymandering across the US after the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We know more intimidation and sabotage is coming before, during, and after Election Day, and we need to be ready to mobilize to 1) WIN the midterms and 2) protect the results.

That’s where our Battlegrounds program comes in.

We’re countering Republican shenanigans with an aggressive Get Out The Vote and election defense strategy in seven key states, including Alaska, that are particularly vulnerable to GOP tampering. By organizing on the ground, talking to voters early, and building infrastructure and capacity for massive GOTV efforts, we’ll win these crucial midterm elections – and by training 10,000 volunteers for the Election Defense Corps, we’ll have the tools, resources, and people power to disrupt any GOP attempts to subvert the results.

Alaska is one of the seven states where we’re organizing to win the 2026 midterms and defend the results.

Last year, Alaska’s Division of Elections gave Trump’s election sabotage a helping hand, caving to his unconstitutional demand to hand over confidential voter data to the Department of Justice and later wrongfully purging more than 3,000 registered voters from the rolls. And in April, Trump insisted that the state’s ranked-choice voting system was “fraudulent,” a baseless claim designed to undermine trust in democratic elections. Trump’s meddling – and state officials’ willingness to bend the knee – means Alaskans need to be on high alert and prepared to take immediate action when his election interference escalates in November.

We need to be ready to respond. Together, we can protect Alaska’s elections, guarantee access to early voting sites, combat voter intimidation at the polls, and ensure that every eligible vote in Alaska is counted.
