Headshot of Analilia Mejia running to be the next Representative for NJ-11

Analilia Mejia is a progressive leader who will fight, not fold.

The daughter of immigrants, Analilia Mejia has seen the transformative power a union job can have for working families. It was her mother’s union job as a garment worker that allowed her family to achieve the kind of stability that let Mejia attend Rutgers University. After graduation, Mejia became a union organizer herself. She would later go on to be the Director of the New Jersey Working Families Alliance, where she fought for the right to paid sick leave, a millionaire tax, and raising the minimum wage. Eventually, Analilia served as the National Political Director on Sen. Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign, and was later appointed Deputy Director of the United States Women’s Bureau in the US Department of Labor.

Now, Analilia is running for Congress to give the people of New Jersey’s 11th district a representative who’s not afraid to hold the corrupt accountable and make government work for working families, not the wealthy and well-connected.

Refusing to turn a blind eye to injustice anywhere, Analilia believes ICE is beyond reform and has called for its abolition, has criticized Israel’s government for human rights violations and war crimes, and has fought hard for working people against the interests of politicians who care more about donors than those who lack deep pockets. She’ll bring that same clear-eyed, people-first perspective to Congress.

Indivisibles of Montclair Sundays have endorsed Analilia Mejia because, in the battle against fascism, we need leaders like her. We’re proud to stand with Indivisibles of Montclair Sundays to support Mejia in her run to be the next Representative for New Jersey’s 11th district.
