Roath’s ties to MA-08 run deep. His mother was raised by a single mom in Braintree, and Roath has built his own life here, now raising his newborn daughter with his wife in Jamaica Plain. Roath’s drive to build a better future for the next generation is personal now that he’s a father. That drive extends beyond his own family. He has also worked on asylum cases for immigrant families and called for dismantling ICE in favor of humane reform, because the future belongs to every family. That’s why he’s running.
