The No Kings Map is Live!
Hundreds of nonviolent protests are already planned for No Kings Day on March 28, and more are being added by the hour.
A Fairfax-based SOLIDARITY EVENT for DC’s Angry Knit-In
It’s Gonna be a Stitch!
What’s the Knit-in? It’s a nationwide craft-based protest turning fiber arts into resistance. Hundreds of crafters, artists, and activists will be converging on the National Mall, and across the nation at solidarity events, to weave, knit, crochet, and frog the fabric of democracy — unraveling the knots of patriarchy and authoritarianism so we can remake something better.
Our local event will watch the livestream of the speakers at the DC event and have craft circles and art stations. Exact projects are still being determined but some under consideration are:
· Knit, crochet, and embroider protest pieces
· Frog symbolic projects
· Items to make and distribute at rallies
· Postcard art for future mailings
We would also love to hear your ideas for craftivism in our community!
The address will be provided upon sign-up. If you would like to come but prefer not to sign-up via Mobilize please email indtttcalendar@gmail.com
