The No Kings Map is Live!
Hundreds of nonviolent protests are already planned for No Kings Day on March 28, and more are being added by the hour.
The Champaign County Indivisible Virtual Book Club is a new effort aimed at helping to raise participants’ awareness of the historical and political context that has led to the present crisis. Titles are chosen by the membership, one to two months in advance.
As the beginning of a short course in electioneering leading up to (and slightly past) the Illinois primary elections on March 17, the December title is [*Politics is For Power* by Eitan Hersh](https://bookshop.org/p/books/politics-is-for-power-how-to-move-beyond-political-hobbyism-take-action-and-make-real-change-eitan-hersh/05879c9e6803ebb1?ean=9781982116798&next=t). One key point will be how to convert the efforts we’ve been working on into concrete leverage that supports our aims. Further installments in the series will be:
– January 29, 2026: [*It’s Time to Fight Dirty* by David Faris](https://bookshop.org/p/books/it-s-time-to-fight-dirty-how-democrats-can-build-a-lasting-majority-in-american-politics-david-faris/69c9a7787679cf2b?ean=9781612197739&next=t) – one, but not the only, key point will focus around policy issues we want candidates for office next year to support. I recorded our conversation, and will put it up to the Champaign County Indivisible YouTube channel when I have a chance.
– February 26, 2026: With a focus on what we see as possible ways that the fairness of the election may be sabotaged, we’re examining [*Election Meltdown* by Prof. Rick Hasen](https://bookshop.org/p/books/election-meltdown-dirty-tricks-distrust-and-the-threat-to-american-democracy-richard-l-hasen/29c32b844ee32878?ean=9780300248197&next=t).
Our March session will happen after the Illinois statewide primary election, and as of this writing on January 31, I think we’re going to need a breath of fresh air and hope. We’re open to suggestions over the next month or so.
