Conversations across Differences
We live in divisively polarized times, and that makes productive, civil conversation difficult. But conversation is what is necessary for us to move forward collectively, particularly in times when people so often resort to angry replies, shutting down, or social media blasts.
The good news is that there are some simple methods and approaches that can help. Whether you are speaking with a colleague, neighbor, friend, family member, or politician – the ways you approach and manage those conversations make a difference in how you are heard – and in how you understand those you are trying to converse with.
