Here’s the deal. Tariffs aren’t a tax on other countries — they’re a tax on us. Businesses pay them, then jack up prices to cover the additional cost, and the average family is paying extra hundreds to thousands of dollars a year. Most Americans already feel it every time they check out at the cash register or order online.
And with the war in Iran dragging on and no end in sight, gas and energy prices stay shaky — one more hit to families who are already stretched too thin.
