The award-winning Declaration of Independence Banner Brigade will be participating in Vienna’s Halloween Parade this year, and we’d welcome additional folks to join our group of “regulars” as we display the text of the Declaration on our artistic, home-made banners. Based on experience (at other parades), it’ll be fun, uplifting, and unifying. Note that we entered as a NON-PARTISAN group, so this is not a protest.
This will be our first time at the Vienna parade (our 7th parade total); and their 2026 theme is “Haunted History: 250 years of America.” So: We’ll be carrying our Declaration Banners while wearing colonial-era COSTUMES (don’t worry if you don’t have one in your closet–we’ll help a lot!–more details after you register.) The parade is rain or shine.
About the Banner Brigade: We’re an informal group of friends/neighbors and other volunteers who have come together numerous times in the past year–with the goal of raising awareness of the Declaration’s words, including our founders’ rejection of the abuse of executive powers.
Please bear in mind that an accurate headcount is essential for the Brigade to work smoothly, so if you register—which we hope you will!—we’ll be expecting you to definitely show up, unless you notify us ahead of time that your plans have changed (we understand that last-minute things arise). There are so many banners to carry that everyone who signs up plays an important role.
We’ll meet at 5:45 for the lineup, though if you need to arrive a little later, that could be arranged. You’ll receive more logistical/attire info after registering. Hope you will join us!
