Since January 2025 over 2,000 kidnappings have occurred in the 805 region that we know of. This count is going up daily. ICE has brutally kidnapped immigrants, quietly, quickly, and effectively, chasing people down streets, neighborhoods, and fields. 70% of deportees had no criminal conviction, implying the other 30% had convictions — many of which were nonviolent or minor.
**Indivisible Santa Maria** commends the brave and resilient volunteerism of fellow community organizations that are helping all those involved in the unlawful and racist kidnapping of our community members.
**We are here to win, and will not be divided, we show up for each other!**
Come to our Protest Vigil on Saturday August 8th, South/West corner of Broadway and McCoy, ½ mile away from where those kidnapped are processed.
Bring a sign, or signs will be provided. Wear black in solidarity and remembrance of those killed, kidnapped, and families suffering at the hands of ICE.
The monarch butterfly is one of the most recognized and spiritually significant insects in the world, symbolizing transformation, hope, resilience, and spiritual change. Paper monarchs will be handed out at the protest and vigil with a name of an immigrant whose life was tragically taken by ICE nationally. Let’s hold them high! We will use this symbolism to power us through this massive injustice at our powerful, peaceful protest!
**ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! ICE OUT!!**
**BE THERE!**
*This Protest will be simple, and without safety monitors and tabling. Bring your own water and chairs. All Indivisible actions are committed to non-violence as a guiding principle in everything we do: our protests, our organizing, and our advocacy. We expect all participants to try to de-escalate any potential confrontations with those who disagree with our values. **We ask that you refrain from blowing whistles at our protests. It is an alarm signal that can cause fear in the community and can also cause unease and anxiety for others sensitive to loud sounds.*
