Saturday is No Kings Day
The wannabe-king is intent on sabotaging our midterms. This weekend, we turn out by the millions to nonviolently defend our elections, our democracy, and our rights. First in the streets, and then at the polls. Join us.
We are meeting up at Cardos Pizza in Waverly for pizza, conversation and writing postcards! We have one hundred “America Votes” postcards, stamps and a list of folks to write them out to. All we need help with is getting these all filled out and ready for the time they are to be mailed. Everything will be provided.
October 16th from 5-7pm Cardos Pizza Waverly, Ohio 2 hr. Party Room
Mail out date: On October 21st, our lead will take all of them to the post office to be mailed out. This date was chosen to ensure the recipients receive them a few days before the election to keep it in mind. We are not the only group doing this in the country. This is a nationwide effort!
We are also accepting donations for our Appalachian Edge Free Market. If you’d like to help us stock up on some much needed items for our community, here’s a list of what we are need of most: •Tampons and pads (all sizes) •Overnight diapers (all sizes) •Hygiene products •Bath and body items •Non-perishable foods & drinks •Baby needs
Beginning to stock for Winter preparation: •Hand warmers (all kinds) •Gloves, beanies and scarves •Thermal socks •Base layers (all sizes) •Clean underwear (all sizes and styles) •Coffee beans (medium roast, for fresh hot coffee during the markets)
A reminder: our Appalachian Edge Free Market is for the community, by the community. Think thrift shop but everything is free and it includes all of our basic life necessities. You can read more about this effort on our website at appalachianedgeohio.org/communityresources and appalachianedgeohio.org/mutualaid
Hope to see you at this event! Let’s see the voter turnout rise this election season.
