The fight to protect our right to vote never ends, and right now, we’re witnessing a Jim-Crow-era effort from politicians and their billionaire friends to restrict our freedoms, silence our voices, and consolidate power.
But in America, we choose our leaders. We will decide our future. The same spirit that fueled Selma, Montgomery, and the March on Washington lives on in our unified action.
Six years after the passing of Congressman Lewis, we’re organizing an event in our community to carry the torch, continue the legacy of John Lewis, and pass it forward to future generations. Once again, join us!
On July 18th, not only will we be waving our signs and raising our voices, we will be: -registering voters, checking voter registration, provide information on being a poll worker, providing links to local and statewide candidates’ social media/websites, signing folks up to volunteer on local and statewide campaigns, talking about school funding, etc.
At each rally we collect monetary donations for an area group, non-profit, organization, or family. We will be collecting supplies and monetary donations to STUFF THE BUS with the United Way for Harcatus Head Start!

We will permit signs to be on sticks, but NO METAL POLES.
As always, this is a peaceful, family-friendly event. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Leave no footprint. Whatever you bring with you, please take with you when you leave. There are trash cans onsite. Trained peacekeepers will be available to de-escalate and make sure that participants and counter-protesters are safe. If you see something, say something to a peacekeeper!

We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
