  • ICE Out of SLO County: Freedom Denied!

A Call for Remembrance and Justice
    Sunday 7/26/2026
You are invited to gather in unity, remembrance, and solidarity as we shine a light on those who
have been disappeared from and by our county. Our county has denied the freedom of over 77 people in 2026 by allowing ICE to abduct them during their release from the county jail.
    Event Details
    ● Date: Sunday, July 26, 2026
    ● Time: 10 am
    ● Location: Hwy 1 and Kansas
    ● Purpose: To honor the disappeared and call for transparency and justice.
    What to Expect
    ● Rally: We shall gather at Hwy 1 and Kansas to call attention to the county’s cooperation
with ICE in disappearing our community members
    ● Procession: At 11 am those who wish will be given a sign to hold with the date
someone was taken by ICE from our county jail. We will proceed silently to the jail. Wear
a black shirt if you wish to participate. We will need 80 people.
    ● Sit In: We will file silently into the lobby of the jail and take up the seats in the lobby
holding our signs. Jail leadership has said we cannot prop up signs at the jail but we are
    welcome to hold them.
    How You Can Participate
    ○ For procession and sit in: If you are honoring a specific individual, you will be
given a sign with the date that the individual was taken from the jail. Wear a black
    shirt to highlight the sign.
    ○ Share the Word: Please invite neighbors, local organizations, and allies who
stand for human rights and community accountability.

*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
