  • Indivisible San Mateo: May Day! Protest in Redwood City

Indivisible San Mateo is joining Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) National and other Indivisibles in a May Day rally at the intersection of Jefferson & El Camino in front of Whole Foods in Redwood City.

Members of the San Mateo County Labor Council, Redwood City City Council, San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, and state and national legislators will join us for a program at 5:00 p.m. followed by a rally.

May 1st is about noncooperation: we withhold our labor, our money, and our participation.

May 1st (International Workers’ Day) looks like:

    – **No work**
    – **No school**
    – **No shopping**

Workers, students, and families across the country are taking action together to demand:

    – Tax the rich so our families, not their fortunes, come first
    – ICE out: no unchecked federal enforcement power in our communities
    – Expand democracy, not corporate control; defend free and fair elections

The People United, Will Never Be Defeated!

*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
