Please join Indivisible Smith County for our next book club meeting on Thursday, June 11th from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Village Creamery in Tyler Bergfeld Center. We meet the second Thursday of each month.
For this meeting, we will be discussing the book: “Solito.”
“Solito” (2022) is a critically acclaimed, bestselling memoir by Javier Zamora that recounts his harrowing two-month journey at age nine from El Salvador to the United States in 1999. Traveling alone to reunite with his parents, Zamora documents a dangerous 3,000-mile trip, detailing his reliance on a “surrogate family” of fellow migrants, navigating dangers like Border Patrol, and coping with the loss of childhood innocence.
If you don’t manage to read it but are interested in the discussion, you are still welcome :-).
Looking forward to seeing you there!
