Please join Indivisible Smith County for our next book club meeting on Thursday, August 13 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Village Creamery in Tyler Bergfeld Center. We meet the second Thursday of each month.

This month’s book is “The Frozen River” by Ariel Lawhon. Inspired by the life of Martha Ballard, a renowned 18th-century midwife who defied the legal system and wrote herself into history. Set in Maine 1786, “The Frozen River” introduces an unsung heroine who refused to accept anything less than justice at a time when women were considered best seen and not heard.

If you don’t manage to read it but are interested in the discussion, you are still welcome :-).

Looking forward to seeing you there!
