The IWSC Book Club will meet on Thursday, October 22 at 7:00pm at the Linda Sokol Francis Brookfield Library.
The book we will discuss is “Separation of Church and Hate.” It is described as a sane person’s guide to taking back the bible from fundamentalists, fascists and flock-fleecing frauds. Author, John Fugelsang, son of a former Catholic nun and a Franciscan brother, takes readers through common fundamentalist arguments on abortion, immigration, LGBTQ+ rights, and more – exposing their hypocrisy and inaccuracy through scripture, common sense and humor. He offers practical tips on how to debate friends and family using the Bible they claim to follow. And, he encourages us to fight for the love, mercy and service that make up the heart of Christianity.
