2:00 - 4:00 PM ET

  • Community Hosted
  • Monthly Committee Meetings, Hybrid & In Person NW DC

Join us in NW DC (or via zoom) for a monthly Committee Meeting. We’ll be having an inaugural meeting on May 3rd. Drinks and snacks will be served.
We will give a brief overview of actions that Indivisible is working on and then we will break into working groups.
While working groups are subject to change, we will be focusing on:
    – Youth Engagement
    – Election Integrity
    – Hagerstown Warehouse Camp
    – Messaging for the 250th Semiquincentennial & Nov. Elections

You’ll receive documents to review prior to the meeting, but we welcome people to come and just listen to ideas and give their personal feedback on what they like, what they think will work, and if they have ideas for effective action.

The youth outreach team is focused on identifying points of contacts in high schools, parent groups, college groups, and third party stakeholders to create a network that allows us how to make our actions more youth-focused/attractive, and how we can provide resources for youth (can we be marshals, can we host sign parties, can we donate space …) to support their separate organizing efforts.

The election integrity team will be helping explain what groups are doing what (like VoPo Pros, Vote Riders) and what it takes to get involved and what kind of work would be done. We can visit about where to focus our time and efforts and continue to find and share the resources popping up around this area.

The Hagerstown warehouse is in flux but it is not over. We’ll be discussing ways we can help Washington County increase awareness for the ICE facility, how we can help oust the County Commissioners who approved this facility with NO PUBLIC INPUT, and other actions that would stop this ICE facility from coming online.

Our 250th Messaging team will be talking about actions we can take that will be engaging and non-confrontational to spread the *true* meaning of the founding of America. We will be thinking of fun, engaging ways to contrast what the vision of freedom looked like in 1776 vs the autocratic regime we have in office in 2026.

This meeting will be hybrid. Because it is hybrid, you will have to join via the zoom link. The mobilize link will not automatically take you to the zoom. 🙂

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
