We are witnessing an erratic approach to waging the war of choice against Iran. Our military performed their duties admirably, however the repercussions and fallout were not appropriately assessed from a strategic perspective.
Trump continues to threaten Iran’s energy and desalination infrastructure. Both are war crimes. Both would have far reaching impacts. The US and Israel have bombed schools and health facilities, so predictably, Iran is threatening retaliation against our universities in the Gulf.
Trump is positioning tens of thousands of troops to the Mideast raising concerns of a major escalation of the war. The same people who didn’t know that, of course, Iran would close the Straits of Hormuz, are planning on exposing our troops to very serious risks. Let’s not forget that Iran has used poison gas against their own people. Iran is NOT like Venezuela. Lindsay Graham compared Kharg island to Iwo Jima, but he didn’t seem to realize that it was a particularly difficult battle, that in the end cost 10,000 troops.
In addition, this war is raising gas prices and all prices related to fossil fuels. Creating shortages of needed fertilizer for spring planting, and helium for chip production, and many other products. We are headed toward a serious recession or possible global economic collapse if this war does not end soon.
Please call or write your legislators to let them know their constituents DEMAND they DO THEIR JOBS and stop the President from waging a war that the people DO NOT SUPPORT! Let them know you will hold them accountable for military deaths.
