The next No Kings Day is coming
The next No Kings Day will be different. Join the No Kings kickoff call this Thursday, 9/10 at 8pm ET/5pm PT to learn about the national day of voter participation being planned for this October.
Join Indivisible Auburn-Opelika for Donuts & Democracy, a nonpartisan Get Out the Vote event at Toomer’s Corner on Saturday, October 17! We’ll be set up from 10am–1pm with FREE DONUTS and everything you need to make your voting plan for the November 3 midterm election.
Stop by our tables to grab a donut, check your voter registration, learn what you’ll need to bring to the polls, find your polling place, and get answers to questions about voting in Alabama. We’ll also have information specifically for college students who may be registered to vote outside Alabama.
Want to help us get out the vote? We need volunteers! Join us at Toomer’s Corner, or help distribute voting information and flyers around downtown Auburn and invite people to stop by for a free donut and make their voting plan.
There’s no purchase, sign-up, or action required to get a donut — they’re simply our treat to the community!
Whether you stay and volunteer or just stop by for a donut and some voting information, we’d love to see you. Democracy works best when we all participate. Let’s get Auburn ready to vote!
This is a nonpartisan Get Out The Vote event designed to encourage participation by all eligible voters.
From NoKings.org:
**We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.**
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. October 17th is a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.
*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
