The No Kings Map is Live!
Hundreds of nonviolent protests are already planned for No Kings Day on March 28, and more are being added by the hour.
**Trump and his court of destructive clowns want us to bow down and be quiet while they dismantle our rights and country.**
**Sorry, there are NO KINGS.**
**>> This signup is for the Downtown Novato Peaceful Protest Party <<** **WHY PROTEST** On March 28th, millions will step into the streets worldwide to make one thing clear: the people hold the power. When we show up together, that is impossible to ignore. Historically, authoritarians have buckled when 3.5% of the population actively shows up repeatedly. Peaceful protest is a great way to do this; we are hoping for the biggest turnout in American history. A coalition of grassroots organizers is calling on Marin to mobilize with the rest of the country, with 20+ protests across the county. You won’t be able to drive to brunch or soccer practice without seeing people on the streets. **PEACEFUL PROTEST LOCATION DETAILS** **10:30am - 12pm** Two main areas supported by local grassroots: 1. Whole Foods Corner (De Long + Reichert) with We the People Novato. 2. City Hall Lawn area with Indivisible Novato. *We will send a map to attendees with recommended safe overflow areas, as De Long sidewalks will likely be at capacity.* **EXTRA COMMUNITY JOY PROVIDED** - Music (of course) at Whole Foods Corner & City Hall - Signs to borrow at Whole Foods Corner - Sign-making/crafts area at City Hall - Snacks and drinks available at City Hall and Whole Foods Corner — take what you need, give what you can - Kid Zone with toys/balls at City Hall - Economic Boycott Corner with info on how to make the biggest impact with the least amount of headache and inconvenience at City Hall - Banned books give-away (tentative) at City Hall - Food bank donation drive (locations tbd) **WHAT TO BRING** A sign. A costume. Friends + family. Your voices and joyful warrior energy. **PEACEFUL PROTEST AGREEMENT** Marin protests are no-host events. Individual organizers facilitate opportunities for people to peacefully and safely assemble in line with First Amendment rights. All events are grounded in nonviolent action. Participants are expected to help de-escalate conflict and take responsibility for their own safety, conduct, and well-being.
