  • NO KINGS Mentor, Ohio

**We have the power and are claiming it together. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.**

What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.

When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.

On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. Join us.

-This protest is supported by Ohio District 14 Partners, 50501, Progress NEO, Like Minded in Lake County, and Burning River Bridge Brigade.

-Please bring cash. We will be collecting cash for two wonderful organizations who are helping our Immigrant Neighbors. Food Not Bombs and The InterReligious Task Force.

-We will be on the north side of the mall along Mentor Ave. We will stretch from Plaza Blvd to Eleanor Garfield Park. Please stay east of Plaza Blvd. We must remain on the south side of Mentor Avenue. Please Do Not Cross Mentor Avenue. Stay on the Mall Side of the street.

-We must stay three feet back from the curb, but we must keep the sidewalk open.

-You are welcome to bring chairs.

-Bring your favorite pro-democracy signs and American flags. We will not have any signs available. Sometimes other protestors bring extra signs.

-Attend with a friend or family member or make a buddy when you get there.

-Please Park in the Great Lakes Mall parking lot, but please leave spaces near store entrances open for shoppers. Please do not fill up the Barnes and Noble Parking Lot

-We do not have designated accessible parking. We recommend that you come early and find a spot near the protest site. The ground is mostly flat in the parking lot and along the protest site. If you can walk longer distances, then please park farther away from the protest site and leave the nearby spaces open for people who need accessible parking.

-Please dress for the weather and bring items of comfort that you need.

-Sometimes counter protestors show up or drive by. Please stay Peaceful and Do Not Fight with counter protestors Or people driving by. PLEASE DE-ESCALATE. If you meet a counter protestor with KINDNESS, this often takes them off guard. If kindness does not work, then ignore them, chant or sing with friends. And alert a Peacekeeper wearing a safety vest.

-Maintain situational awareness Let a Peacekeeper with a safety vest know if you have a concern or if something feels off. Call 911 if there is an emergency. We are working with the Mentor Police Department.

-Please bring items to share with others. We have had protestors bring bracelets, flower seeds, little American flags, snacks, waterbottles, paperclip jewelry, handouts with information to protect democracy, stickers, and snacks. This creates a community of joy and peace.

-Please jump in and help where you can-handing out flyers, helping disabled people get through on the sidewalk, helping elders and families with young children.

-Please bring a grocery bag to help pick up garbage after the protest. We always try to leave the site better than how we found it.

-Please shop or have lunch in the mall. They have graciously permitted us to use their parking lot, and they are mostly small business owners.

-Have fun protecting democracy. Lead with Peace and Joy.
