  • NO KINGS Silver Spring, MD – Seminary Bridge Overpass Wave

**We have the power and are claiming it together. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.**

What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.

When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.

On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it.

    Join us.

TO MAKE THE MOST OF THIS EVENT, PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW.

We are looking forward to this family friendly fun event on Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. We plan to have bubbles and music. We would love it if Frog and friends came to join us. We may have a visit from Aunt Tifa.

Bring your signs and flags* Organizers will have the MAIN MESSAGE for the day that will be hung on the fence first for viewing from the highway. If you wish to add a sign for the highway, for best visibility, letters need to be a minimum 2ft in height and bright colored letters on a dark background. Bring signs for passing cars on the bridge – for greatest impact – keep sign messages short and clearly printed.

If you hang a sign for the highway, you must stay with your sign.

MEETING AT: Seminary Bridge overpass for a banner drop and sign wave from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm – sign-up for a one and a half hour to two hour shift, or join us for the full five hours.

    Shift 1: 10:00 am to 11:30 am

    Shift 2: 11:30 am to 1:00 pm

    Shift 3: 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

All Shifts: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

TRANSPORATION/PARKING: Parking is available in the neighborhood. Remember, parking is not allowed on the bridge – those with mobility concerns can be dropped off and picked up. Closest metro is the Forest Glen Metro on the Red Line. It is about a 0.7 mile walk.

    RESTROOMS: Are not available.

WEATHER: We will post as we get close to the date. Dress accordingly with comfortable shoes! (If lightening/thunder, heavy rain, the event will be cancelled.)

SAFETY: Be sure to stay hydrated, bring water, snacks, and sunscreen.
ALTHOUGH THERE IS SPACE ALONGSIDE THE ROAD, WE ASK THAT YOU STAY ON THE SIDEWALK.

This is a peaceful, family friendly event. A group of us has been holding twice-weekly banner drops on Seminary Bridge without incident. However, we always want to be prepared and keep people safe. Please pay attention to the Event Marshalls wearing yellow vests. We will have Safety Exit signs with arrows indicating which direction to go in if there is a concern. We will have trained first aid responders available.

AGITATORS*: PLEASE IGNORE and AVOID AGITATORS. PLEASE DO NOT ENGAGE. REMEMBER TO VIDEO TAPE ANY INTERACTIONS YOU THINK ARE CONCERNING. Please note that photographing and filming in public spaces is allowed. However, you cannot be voice recorded without your express permission. If you need assistance, please look for and head towards the people in the yellow vests.

*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*

DONATIONS: Alongside this visibility event, we are excited to create a moment of giving back. If you are able, please support organizations that support your community members. QR codes will be available to make monetary donations. We will also be collecting items. We will let you know as we get close to the date.
