On October 17, join Third Act DMV for a VOTE EARLY rally at the Watergate Steps near the Lincoln Memorial and then march with us across Memorial Bridge to Memorial Circle. You may choose to end the march there and hop on the metro, or join some of us to return to the Watergate Steps (for a song or two).
The rally will feature several speakers and opportunities to check your voter registration status, confirm your polling location, and learn about DC’s animal welfare Initiative, Maryland’s redistricting referendum, and Virginia’s three Constitutional Amendments on this year’s ballots.
Our No Kings: Vote Early to stop the Arch march will take us to the site of the proposed Vanity Triumphal Arch, where our presence will demonstrate our resistance to government overreach and our support for democracy. Across all issues, the message will be to vote early, vote in person if possible and turn out in numbers “too big to rig.”
With music, chants, a drum brigade, puppets, and all of you, we plan to make some noise as we get out the early vote and help turn the tide for our country.
Third Act DMV is a volunteer-run regional group within the national Third Act network, bringing together activists from Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The group focuses on democracy protection, climate action, and federal-level issues.
*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.*
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
