One Million Rising is a nationwide campaign of strategic noncooperation to stop authoritarianism. Participants will learn ideas based on research and data from successful pro-democracy movements. We will learn how to ASSERT OUR POWER through noncooperation; be inspired to TAKE ACTION and empower others through civil resistance; and CONNECT with people who care to create a courageous community.
Everyday, every hour, there are more shocking headlines, one after the other, and it’s exhausting. Did you know that helplessness is our brain’s default response to overwhelming stress? When we get involved in an activity, we’re physically rewiring our brains. The simple act of getting involved moves us from hopelessness to empowerment which builds the long-term resilience we need. Don’t give up… get engaged!
