The next No Kings Day will be different. Join the No Kings kickoff call this Thursday, 9/10 at 8pm ET/5pm PT to learn about the national day of voter participation being planned for this October.
What does East Winston need from Forsyth County?
On September 23, East Winston residents will come together for a different kind of town hall—one where the community sets the agenda and residents speak first.
Instead of beginning with speeches from candidates or public officials, we’ll begin by listening to the people who live in our neighborhoods.
Residents will have an opportunity to talk about the issues affecting their families and communities, including housing stability, health and mental-health services, transportation, services for seniors and families, community investment, and other priorities affecting everyday life.
Forsyth County Commissioners, candidates for County Commission, and other community leaders will be invited to listen and respond to what residents have to say.
The question at the heart of the evening is simple:
What does East Winston need, and what can County government do about it?
This is the first in a series of community conversations being held in East Winston. Everyone is welcome.

Format: In-person community town hall
Moderator: I would leave Reverend Ford’s name off Mobilize until Maya confirms him.
For the graphic, use the existing “Our Neighborhood, Our Future” Town Hall Meeting graphic you already have. It is plenty descriptive for Mobilize; don’t wait for the new EWVP branding to get the event posted.
One small strategic choice I made: I used “Forsyth County Commissioners, candidates for County Commission, and other community leaders will be invited” rather than promising who will appear. That lets you publish today without having to revise the event if some invitees decline.
