  • Pack City Hall to protest Springfield Library layoffs!

    🚨URGENT‼️

On March 31st, the City of Springfield quietly terminated two librarian positions, effective 7/1/26. As a result, our public library’s open hours will have to be reduced because the new staffing levels can only maintain 5 days of service. Library staff have also been informed that library programming and outreach will be severely reduced as well. After nearly a year of community pleading to not cut the library budget, these decisions were made outside of the public budget process that’s supposed to take place next month.

We need YOUR help to support the library by attending the City Council meeting at Springfield City Hall on Monday April 6th at 7 pm and demand transparency and accountability for these library layoffs and service cuts!

Will you help us pack City Hall on Monday? Please spread the word to all library lovers you know in Springfield!

There’s a post on our IG you can share too @savespringfieldlibrary
