Join us for a series of special events with candidates.
**Heather Sievers, candidate for IA House, District 40, will join us on Wednesday October 7th, at 8:00pm ET.** Heather Sievers ran for this seat in 2024 and came within 318 votes. A win for Heather will help break the Republican supermajority. She is a States Project candidate, endorsed by Run For Something and Planned Parenthood, and is in the DLCC Top Ten Races to Watch. Getting Democrats out to vote for Heather will also help US Senate candidate Josh Turek. After our visit with Heather, all are welcome to switch over to our regular Wednesday night drop-in Zoom at 9 pm ET.
**Claire Heinrich candidate for MO House, District 110, will will join us on Wednesday October 7th, at 8:30pm ET.** HD 110 is 70 square miles on the edge of a very large sea of red. The incumbent resigned in November, 2025 to work for the Trump administration’s Department of Homeland Security; the seat has been left vacant since. Claire has been endorsed by David Hogg’s Leaders We Deserve, labor unions including MO AFL-CIO-State, and MO National Women’s Political Caucus-State. The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) has targeted Claire’s race as one that can be flipped. To date, Claire has personally knocked on 7800 doors in her district. We are writing to inconsistent Democratic voters. Dems need to pick up three seats this cycle to break the Republican super majority in the MO House.
**Joseph C. Damiani and Sylke Jackson, Candidates for Town Council, Clarkstown ,NY, will join us on Wednesday October 21st, at 8:00pm ET.** Clarkstown is a suburban town in Rockland County, NY on the west side of the Hudson River. Clarkstown sits in Congressional District NY-17 where Cait Conley is running to defeat incumbent Republican Mike Lawler. Clarkstown is governed by a Town Supervisor and 4 Town Council members. Clarkstown currently has a Republican Town Supervisor and 4 Republican Town Council members, despite the fact that there are more registered Democrats than Republicans. Past elections for Town Supervisor and Council were in off years with low turnout. With a shift to even-year elections and greater Democratic turnout expected this election cycle, there is a good chance to flip these seats.
**Teresa Clifford, candidate for Town Supervisor, and Rita Romeu, candidate for Town Council, Somers, NY, will join us on Wednesday October 21st, at 8:30pm ET.** Teresa Clifford and Rita Romeu are running for local government in Somers, NY, as part of the Democratic ticket aimed at providing new leadership, increased transparency, and proactive community management. If successful, their elections would shift the balance of power on the Somers Town Board to a 3-2 Democratic majority. Somers sits in Congressional District NY-17, a red-to-blue district NY Democrats are working hard to flip. Supporting these candidates helps them turn out voters for their local offices but also for Democrat Cait Conley who is working hard to unseat Republican Mike Lawler.
_**Cat Clayton will join us on Wednesday September 30th, at 8:00pm ET.** Cat Clayton is running for Missouri House in St. Charles County. She has watched Missouri Republican leaders ignore voters and make decisions without transparency, and she believes her community deserves a representative who listens, shows up, and brings practical, data-focused problem solving. Her district is one of the most competitive and flippable seats in Missouri, with the potential to help break the Republican supermajority that has repeatedly overridden the will of voters on issues like reproductive rights and worker’s rights. Over the past two years, our postcards helped elect 5 members to the Francis Howell School Board, which is within HD105, flipping it away from conservative control._
_**Nick Brock will join us on Wednesday September 30th, at 8:30pm ET.** Nick Brock, a first-time candidate running for the Grandville Board of Education, is Executive Director of the West Michigan chapter of Vote Common Good, a faith-based organization focused on civic engagement mobilizing people of faith to make the common good their voting criteria, and serves as a speaker and educator on national tours. After our visit with Nick, all are welcome to switch over to our regular Wednesday night drop-in Zoom at 9 pm ET._
