We will be protesting the Confederate Memorial at the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Interstate 10 (northwest corner). We will have a water cooler, so please bring your own reusable water container and a rag to help keep cool. We will be there from 4:00 – sunset. We will have a few extra signs, but encourage all participants to bring a sign including messaging about MLK Jr., antiracism, speaking out against Confederate Monuments.
A core principle behind SETX Impact Initiative events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
