Rick was pulled away for a national appearance. He will be back with us in a month or two, when his schedule is more workable….but we have an EXCELLENT program you will NOT want to miss!
Educating our children should be one of the highest priorities of every community. Our children are our future, and every child deserves access to a high-quality education. Yet in Florida, the educational landscape has become increasingly complex.
On July 15, Leon County Indivisible will host a public forum, “Understanding School Choice,” to help community members better understand Florida’s evolving education system.
The forum will provide an overview of how these systems operate, how public funding is allocated among them, and the implications for students, families, and taxpayers.
Author and education expert Dr. Sally Butzin and Rosanne Wood, Leon County School Board member and former SAIL HS principal will lay the foundation for the discussion. Gwen Graham, David Jolly, and Andrew Spar, whose organization, Florida Education Association, has filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Florida’s school choice funding system, and other experts have been invited to attend-and we are awaiting their confirmation.
Whether you support, oppose, or simply want to better understand school choice, this forum is designed to provide factual information and encourage informed civic discussion about one of the most important issues facing Florida’s children and public education system.
