  • San Jose CAN: Postcard Drive to Keep ICE Out of Polling Places and Protect Voter Rights

San Jose CAN meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Santa Teresa Library. For more information, visit our website: https://sanjosecan.org/.

San Jose CAN is a new grassroots chapter of Indivisible! We are just getting started, and we need you to help shape our future. This is your chance to be a senior member of a local movement dedicated to protecting our democracy and fighting for justice right here in our neighborhood.

Our May 16th meeting centers on a postcard-writing session urging California officials to stop ICE from patrolling polling places, coordinate with civil rights organizations to provide on-site support, strengthen the California Voting Rights Act (CVRA), and protect mail-in ballots. We will provide postcards, addresses, pre-written scripts, and pens. Participants are asked to provide their own stamps.

Don’t watch history happen from the sidelines. Come be part of the story. Let’s make San Jose shine! 💪🇺🇸

*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
