On this day trip, we’ll knock doors with **Ground Truth**—the innovative deep-listening canvassing program created by Swing Left. We’re heading to PA-08—a must-win Swing District—to knock on every door, not just the ones on a list. You don’t need to be a policy expert—just a good listener!
## The Mission: Deep Listening
This isn’t your standard canvass. Through Ground Truth, we are changing how Democrats talk—and more importantly listen—to voters:
– **Knock Every Door:** We don’t filter by party. We listen to everyone to truly understand the pulse of the community.
– **Deep Listening:** We have real, two-way conversations. We’re not pitching or arguing; we’re listening to voter experiences, fears, and values.
– **Capture Insights:** You’ll be taking detailed notes on the voters you meet. These insights help us identify persuadable voters and provide campaigns with the deep intelligence they need to win.
## Here is the plan:
– **Sign up now and help us fill the bus:** Invite a friend or two to help us fill the bus!
– **Ready to roll:** Your bus captain will provide departure details, training, and the Ground Truth conversation guide.
## What to expect:
– **The Trip:** The bus will leave Union Square on August 29at 8:30 am and return by 7pm latest.
– **Canvassing:** We’ll be knocking on doors in the district from roughly 10:30am-4pm then debriefing before we return, enjoying social time and singing together on the bus back to NYC!
– **Preparation:** You’ll receive all training materials, location details, and support from your bus captain. You will be walking door-to-door, so comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and weather appropriate clothing like sunscreen, a hat, and an umbrella/poncho are recommended.
