The No Kings Map is Live!
Hundreds of nonviolent protests are already planned for No Kings Day on March 28, and more are being added by the hour.
**In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings.**
Join South PBC Indivisible’s Car Protest for No Kings Day 3.0
Intersection of W Palmetto Park Rd & NW 2nd Ave
South PBC Indivisible is partnering with Indivisible Boca Raton to amplify all of our voices at a No Kings Day protest at Boca Raton City Hall.
We invite you to participate from the comfort of your car! Make signs, decorate your vehicle, and get ready to circle the block past City Hall.
Car protesting is perfect for:
– people with mobility issues
– people who need to avoid heat or crowds
– people with small children in tow
Your presence, your signs, your thumbs-up’s, and your honking will swell our numbers and encourage the sidewalk protesters.
**HERE’S HOW TO PARTICIPATE**
1. Decide on a time to participate for 20-30 minutes between 10am-12pm.
2. Pack your car with sign-waving friends.
3. Form your own mini-parade! Recruit additional carloads of friends to caravan together!
4. Decorate your car at home so that you will function as a moving protest along your route towards City Hall.
5. Drive past City Hall at least 5 times.
6. Wave, give thumbs up, honk your horn, and wave your signs.
7. Park afterwards and join the sidewalk protesters, or just drive away after your shift.
**SUGGESTED ROUTE**
Please pass through the intersection of Palmetto Park Rd and NW 2nd Ave repeatedly, using any route you find comfortable.
Our suggestion is to drive in a square around the block:
– west on Palmetto Park Rd
– north on NW 2nd AVENUE
– east on NW 2nd STREET
– south on NW 1st Ave (before railroad tracks) or south on N Dixie Hwy (past railroad tracks)
**IMPORTANT! FOR YOUR SAFETY**
Be a responsible driver and protester during the Car Protest!
Use a vehicle with no ticketable offences: no broken tail light, expired registration sticker, etc.
Carefully obey ALL traffic rules, for example:
– keep to the speed limit
– signal to turn
– yield when necessary
– don’t text and drive
Do not respond to counter-protesters: no shouting, no rude gestures, etc.
The goal of the Car Protest is to offer a safe and positive alternative for activists who want to support democracy but do not wish to stand on the sidewalk, so please help us keep it as safe and as positive as possible.
**CAR DECORATION TIPS**
The theme is “No Kings” but any pro-democracy slogans are appropriate. It’s great to use red, white, and blue decorations to show that protest is patriotic.
– Blue painter’s tape works well to attach decorations to cars.
– You can also attach flexible magnetic tape to posters which will then magnetically stick to your car doors.
– Windshield markers or liquid chalk markers can be used on car windows (NOT on the paint).
– Balloons, streamers, and flags attract attention!
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
