Third Act and Indivisible are grassroots groups in all 50 states that believe in the possibility of change and are doing the work to make it happen. We believe that we, the people, through our members, and along with many other organizations, and with millions of residents, can turn around the current march towards autocracy. Here in Northern Virginia, we are not staying silent in the face of the attack on every institution and every racial, ethnic, and religious group in this country except those of the elites (you know who we mean). When everything is under attack, what do we do? Stand up and fight back. Stand up and fight back against hatred, bigotry, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny, and antisemitism. Stand up and fight back against the attacks on NIH, CDC, EPA, NPS, DOE, DOJ, CFPB, SSA, USAID, the Fed, universities, and law firms. Stand up and fight back against the federal invasion of our cities and the kidnapping of hard-working, tax paying, loyal immigrants looking for a better way of life. Out with ICE! And we do not forget about our felllow citizens of the world – the continuing and unending genocide in Gaza supported by US arms, the unprovoked atrocities in Ukraine not defended by US arms, and the mind-numbing degree of starvation and disease in Africa caused by the cruel policy to take away the US AID humanitarian mission.
Our Putin-loving president is in the process of taking away all of our constitutional rights and trying to take away our humanity. STAND UP AGAINST IT ALL. Come out with signs, banners, horns, whistles, pots and pans – whatever you can think of to get the attention of your fellow citizens who are passing by and may not be as focused as they should be on the desperate state of our democracy.
Stand up for the Constitution for the Rule of Law. Stand up for Humanity.
This is not the time to sit on the sidelines. This is a time for action!
