The People’s Council empowers all who live and work in Jefferson County to use their voice where our elected officials have failed us.  Knowing that democratic participation requires more than just voting every few years, we see the need for ongoing access to the decision-making process to hold officials accountable and contribute meaningfully to governance.
Our mission is simple:Â Â engage in the civic process by becoming familiar with the court, identifying problems with a focus on solutions, demanding accountability and modeling governance rooted in care, not passive disinterest.
We will meet, review, and discuss public agendas and topics, organize and develop a plan for community engagement and empower community members to attend municipal meetings using their voices to help shape the future of our community.
