  • The Vote Is Sacred Tour – Clearwater, FL

The Vote Is Sacred 2026 is Interfaith Alliance’s nationwide effort to protect our democracy and empower people of faith to get out the vote in the midterm elections. At the heart of The Vote Is Sacred is a cross-country bus tour, launching October 6 in Omaha and running through Election Day: a month on the road in the communities where the freedom to vote is under the most pressure, with public gatherings that platform local clergy and faith communities, election protection trainings, voter registration and canvassing anchored at the bus, and vigils standing against fear and intimidation at the ballot box. We partner with local organizations at every stop.

We will be part of the weekly Vigil for Immigrant Justice and the Call to End Section 287(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which authorizes U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to delegate federal immigration enforcement authority to state and local law enforcement agencies. This is a time to reflect on what it means to stand witness and hold vigil as an act of participatory democracy. Calling for systemic change and an end to immigrant detention without due process, this vigil has taken place 50 weeks in a row, organized by faith leaders and people of conscience, standing in solidarity with other vigils across the state and nation.

This vigil is held in partnership with Interfaith Alliance of Florida, Voter Action Pinellas, the League of Women Voters of St. Petersburg, and the League of Women Voters of North Pinellas.

Join us, because the vote is sacred, and democracy needs people of faith.
