  • Visibility Brigade Overpass Action on June 6th, D-Day “Democracy Day”!

On Saturday, June 6th, D-Day (Democracy Day) is coming and we want you to join us on our overpass at 88th Street over Hwy-36 from 12pm-2pm to honor those who fought fascism on the beaches of Normandy by bringing that same spirit of resistance peacefully home!

Our overpass will join a thousand other overpasses across the United States on D-Day, with one mission: to help save our country.

Our Messaging: Pro-democracy. Anti-fascist. Rooted in history, urgent in the present. We honor those who gave everything in WWII, lift up FDR’s Four Freedoms, and draw a clear connection between the sacrifices made on those beaches and the moment we are living through right now.

We will supply a large message to display to the cars on Hwy-36. You are welcome to bring your own smaller sign to display to traffic on 88th St, to play music, and to wear inflatables and costumes. Or just bring yourself! (And sunscreen, a hat, and water.)

If you are a veteran, we would be especially honored if you could join us!

Democracy Day is built on joy, creativity, and community. To learn more about the Visibility Brigade movement, please visit www.VisibilityBrigade.com!

Once you sign up, we will share more information as we get closer to this event!

    This a local Indivisible event:

*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
