Every Thursday, Indivisible co-founders Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg host a participatory conversation on the week’s news, the state of our democracy, and our plan to defeat the authoritarian threats we face.
This is a local event sponsored by Coweta County Indivisible.
We will be holding a “Walk Against Fascism” and a sign waving event to encourage people to get out and vote. The walk is to warn about fascism that currently exists and what we will encounter if we don’t exercise our right to vote. We will be walking around the Courthouse square in downtown Newnan.
Coweta Indivisible has a large variety of signs against fascism so we encourage participants to bring get out the vote signs.
A Voter Engagement and Community Outreach table will be stationed at the protest so residents can check their voter registration or register to vote.
We are meeting in front of the historic downtown County Courthouse across from Leaf and Bean Coffee Shop. We will provide water but with the heat, be sure to wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
The core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
