We are heading to Manzanita House to show them some love, support and gratitude. They are WONDERFUL!
Manzanita House was birthed out of a need to fill the gaps in services for immigrants and refugees in Eastern Washington.
Their primary focus has always been to embrace, equip, and empower those we serve to feel welcome, stable, and connected to their community. Every immigrant deserves the opportunity to flourish and uniquely contribute to Eastern Washington’s burgeoning vibrance and diversity.
3:30 – 4:30 we will meet at Manzanita House for a tour and information about their programs. We will also bring them thank you cards, treats and snacks. If you’d like to bring some (non-homemade) snacks that would be great!
4:30 – 5:30 we will rally in support of Immigrants and Refugees. Intersection TBD, will be close by.
PLEASE MAKE SURE RALLY SIGNS ARE POSITIVE! This is VERY IMPORTANT! We will not draw ANY NEGATIVE ATTENTION to Manzanita House or our immigrant / refugee friends. Keep it kind and classy please.
I will bring extra LOVE signs too.
Hang out afterwards also TBD.
Manzanita House has a request from families sometimes for cookware and dishes. If you have anything to donate (preferably new), we will be doing a collection for them.
As always we follow the PJALS principles of nonviolence https://pjals.org/action/#nonviolence
A core principle behind all events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
