  • Indivisible Announces First 2026 Primary Endorsements, Backing Three Progressive Candidates

    Feb 9, 2026

Peggy Flanagan (MN-Sen), Brad Lander (NY-10), and Jasmine Clark (GA-13) are the First Progressive Candidates Endorsed Under Indivisible’s Historic 2026 Primary Program

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Indivisible, one of the nation’s largest progressive grassroots organizations, announced its first 2026 primary endorsements of three candidates in key Democratic contests for Congress and the U.S. Senate. These endorsements reflect Indivisible’s continued commitment to building a strong opposition party powered by progressive leaders who are not afraid to stand up to the regime and will fight for working people. The endorsed candidates are:

    Peggy Flanagan (MN-Sen)
    Brad Lander (NY-10)
    Jasmine Clark (GA-13)

“This moment demands a Democratic Party that breaks with politics as usual to take on the authoritarian in the White House and his goons terrorizing our communities. It’s time to turn the page on the Democratic Party of 2024 and 2025 — a party that failed to build the unified opposition this moment requires.

“That’s why Indivisible is proud to endorse this first slate of candidates. Peggy, Brad, and Jasmine are committed to the fight and will not fold under pressure or manage fascism with caution. They’ve led with people power to confront MAGA extremism head-on. And they’ve refused to simply fall in line behind failed Democratic Party leadership – they’re demanding a better party. These are the types of leaders we need in this moment.

“This is our chance to course-correct: to elevate real fighters, secure stronger leadership, and ensure Democratic majorities in 2027 are not held back by the 2025 status quo,” said Ezra Levin, Co-Executive Director of Indivisible.

All three candidates have been endorsed by their local Indivisible groups and members, and all are running in Democratic primaries where voters face a clear choice about the future direction of the party.

    • In Minnesota, Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan is running for U.S. Senate with a record of delivering transformational progress for families and the opportunity to make history as the first Indigenous woman elected to the Senate. But Chuck Schumer is trying to buy the race for her opponent, Angie Craig, who is backed by Trump’s fascism funders, and who voted last year to strip immigrants of their rights and thank ICE agents for their service.
    • In New York’s 10th District, Brad Lander brings decades of progressive leadership and governing experience, with a track record of winning tangible gains for workers, tenants, and immigrant communities. Meanwhile, Dan Goldman, an ultra-wealthy corporate incumbent funded by billionaire Trumpers, is asking voters to overlook his failed status quo leadership, including siding with Republicans last year to allow Trump to take billions more in crypto bribes.
    • In Georgia’s 13th District, Dr. Jasmine Clark has rooted her campaign in accountability, truth, and a commitment to protecting democracy, healthcare, and public education. She’s mounting a strong challenge against octogenarian incumbent David Scott, a conservative Democrat in a safe blue district who didn’t even bother to vote in the 2024 presidential election. While voting for Kamala Harris was too much effort for him, Scott did team up with Angie Craig and congressional Republicans on a vote to formally express gratitude to ICE mere months ago.

None of these candidates take crypto money, AIPAC money, or money from any of the funders of fascism. All of them represent a move away from the weak, capitulating Democratic Party of the past and toward a new, stronger, fighting Democratic Party that is desperately needed in 2026 and beyond.

    Indivisible’s 2026 Primary Program

Last November, after Senate Democrats surrendered and voted to end the 41-day government shutdown without securing any commitments to lower health care costs or protect working families, Indivisible announced its largest primary program in the movement’s history. This program aims to identify and support fighters who will challenge feckless incumbents — to fight, not fold, in the face of fascism. This program is guided by Indivisible’s national grassroots network and will mobilize volunteers and resources to help candidates who are committed to defending communities, protecting working families, and holding Democratic leadership accountable.

In the coming weeks, Indivisible will work with a nationwide movement to help these and future endorsed candidates win their primaries, scaling phone banks, text programs, and canvassing efforts to unprecedented levels for the 2026 cycle.
