Washington, DC — Today, Mary Small, National Advocacy Director for Indivisible, issued the following statement:
“We applaud the decision of the Biden administration to grant Temporary Protected Status to Haitian refugees in this country. This decision means relief and protection for families who have sought refuge in American, and have had to live with the fear of being deported to unstable and possibly deadly conditions.”
“This is but one step in many needed to ensure racial and immigrant justice within our immigration system, to undo the cruelty of the past administration and keep families together and safe. We look forward to what additional steps the administration would take to continue on this path.”
“We applaud advocates like Undocublack Network and Haitian Bridge Alliance whose relentless advocacy has made this moment possible.”
