Distributed Fundraising: Matching Challenge Sample Email & Tips for Asking for Monthly Donations

    • The matching campaign provides a great incentive to ask folks to set up monthly donations to your group!  Personalize the sample email below, or write your own.

    Tip #1

    Track the success of your monthly donation ask by using Reference Codes (or Refcodes for short). Refcodes are custom tags that you can add to your ActBlue links to easily track which links perform best.  You can find more information and instructions here.

    Encourage monthly gifts by editing your page settings. Examples include having some extra text near the “monthly” button to give a short pitch, or having a pop-up asking folks if they’d like to make their gift monthly. You can find more information and instructions here.

    As we prepare for the rest of 2024, we know that extremism threatens to erode our democracy. MAGA continues their attacks on our fundamental rights, including abortion and voting rights, and the nomination process is wrapped up. This is a pretty depressing moment for our country, but also one that must inspire action.

    It’s up to us – all of us who care about defending our democracy, protecting our freedoms, and leaving a livable planet to future generations – to put in the work this year. That's why we're reaching out and asking folks to start a monthly contribution today.  {Link to ActBlue page}

    Your continued support can help us with our routine costs, such as our virtual meeting account, printing, and postage. Your monthly donation also helps us respond to urgent news, allowing us to organize and act together swiftly to seize opportunities to create meaningful change- like when we jumped into action after {insert a time you were able to respond to something quickly}.
