WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Indivisible’s National Political Director Dani Negrete issued the following statement on Governor Tim Walz’s speech at the 2024 Democratic National Convention:
“Tonight, Governor Tim Walz reminded us all why he’s exactly the partner our country needs right now. In his speech, Walz spoke directly to the hopes and dreams of working families across the country. Throughout his career as a teacher and coach, sergeant major, Member of Congress, and Governor, Tim Walz has always been a tireless advocate for his community. Now, as part of this historic ticket, he’s ready to continue the fight for the future of this country—for all of our communities.
“Governor Walz brings more than just experience; he brings a commitment to real change. From delivering universal free school meals to protecting reproductive rights, he’s shown that Democrats can win—and deliver—on the issues that matter most. His leadership has already sparked a wave of progress in Minnesota, and Kamala Harris could not have made a better pick for her soon-to-be transformative and historic administration.
“The stakes couldn’t be higher, but with Coach Walz and Vice President Harris at the helm, we have a team that’s ready to fight for the people, protect our democracy, and build a more just and inclusive future. Indivisible is energized and ready to stand with them every step of the way, and to elect a strong democratic trifecta so they can swiftly deliver for all Americans the way Governor Walz did for his fellow Minnesotans.”
