After Senator Menendez’s indictments became public, Indivisible groups across NJ jumped in to say that his conduct was unacceptable. In the face of deep corruption and lawlessness from the highest echelons of the Republican Party, we as Democrats and progressives could not accept a Senator who had so blatantly engaged in schemes to enrich himself. During those early calls for Menendez to resign that New Jersey Indivisibles organized, only one Democrat had the courage to jump in and say “this is unacceptable, and I’m going to make sure it doesn’t continue.” That was Andy Kim. Making a run like this is a huge risk, but Kim didn’t hesitate to take the plunge.
