Phoenix, AZ — Today, 30 Indivisible groups across Arizona sent a letter to Senators Gallego and Kelly, calling on them to reject empty promises from Republicans to protect healthcare. The full text of the letter can be found here.
The groups write: “We’re alarmed by reports that some Democrats may vote for a GOP funding bill in exchange for just a pinky promise to maybe have discussions on protecting the Affordable Care Act. This would be unacceptable. We all know that Republicans are not operating in good faith - they’ve been trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act for 15 years, and clearly cannot be trusted. Handshake agreements with them aren’t just naive, they are dangerous. We strongly encourage you to remain firm and only accept a deal that’s written in the bill itself.”
