Washington, DC—Tonight, the Indivisible Project’s national political director Maria Urbina released the following statement:
“We are happy to congratulate Jeramey Anderson, the Democratic candidate for Congress in Mississippi’s Fourth District. He earned the support of Indivisibles in the district with his strong progressive platform and deep local roots. He is ready to take on Rep. Pallazzo in November.
“Millennials are dramatically underrepresented in Congress, despite making up nearly a quarter of the US population. As the youngest state legislator in Mississippi, Jeramey will bring a much needed perspective to Capitol Hill. Congress needs more lawmakers with the kind of personal dedication Jeramey has demonstrated for his district.
“Candidates like Jeramey Anderson are changing what is politically possible in districts across the country. We’re with Jeramey from now through November.”
Jeramey Anderson is one of the 15 candidates that the Indivisible Project has endorsed at the national level. To earn Indivisible’s national endorsement, a candidate must clear a tough three-stage process that requires buy-in from local Indivisible group members at multiple points. A candidate cannot be endorsed without a strong platform and the enthusiastic support of informed, energized voters across their district.
