"We are proud to add these 20 candidates to Indivisible’s roster of endorsements. Our latest round of endorsements shows that the progressive movement is strong in all parts of the country. In rural and urban areas, Indivisible members found candidates in their districts who excited them and reflected the vision they want for our future," IE political director Lucy Solomon said, “In this round of endorsements, we are backing representatives who have fought for progressive values in Congress and new candidates who have fought for those values from the outside. We are excited to back all of them and know that our groups are already working hard to get them all elected."
This is Indivisible's largest round of endorsements this election cycle, and is filled primarily with candidates headed toward the general election. Indivisible is proud to endorse Mark Pocan and Pramila Jayapal who lead the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and have been champions in the fight to pass a fair, inclusive, and effective prescription drug pricing bill. Other candidates are new to Indivisible, but not new to the fight for progressive change, like Wendy Davis who’s claim to fame is her hours long filibuster to prevent Texas’ restrictive and harmful laws targeting abortion providers. This round also includes future progressive leaders of color like Mondaire Jones, who is replacing powerful Appropriations Chairwomen Nita Lowey in New York's 17th Congressional District.
To earn Indivisible's national endorsement, a candidate must clear a tough three-stage process that requires broad support from local Indivisible group members at multiple points. All endorsed candidates must have a strong progressive platform aligned with our movement's values and the enthusiastic support of informed energized voters in their district.
