Washington, D.C. — Today, Indivisible Action announced its endorsement of Joe Biden for President, following a two week voting period in which Indivisible group leaders, group members and unaffiliated activists cast their vote, with 97.2% affirming the endorsement.
“We are so proud to make this endorsement official today. In his first term, President Biden has led the country through a perilous period, while also delivering on transformational policies on climate and economic opportunity with the slimmest congressional majorities. President Biden has restored decency and leadership to the White House, and perhaps most importantly, he has been a champion for democracy and choice in the face of MAGA extremism that has worked to rollback rights and personal freedoms at every turn,” said Leah Greenberg, co-executive director of Indivisible. “With this endorsement, Indivisibles around the country are raising their hands to say that we’re in to do what it takes to reelect Joe Biden and to send the forces of Donald Trump and MAGA extremism back to the dustbin of history.”
“Everything we care about is on the ballot next November: our bodily autonomy, economic and climate justice, and the fate of democracy itself,” Greenberg continued. We can and will use our people power to win: to reelect Joe Biden, expand our majorities, and reclaim our rights and democracy. That work starts here.”
Indivisible is one of the country’s largest and most influential networks of grassroots activists. Founded in 2017 as part of the resistance to Trump’s election, Indivisible made its mark as one of the driving forces behind the “Blue Wave” that swept Republicans out of office. In 2020, Indivisible served as a progressive voice for Democratic unity, and later became a national hub for pandemic volunteer activity, setting up the cycle’s “best no-contact field program” according to Campaigns & Elections. In the 2022 midterms, Indivisible dug in to defend Democratic incumbents in the House. Echoing President Biden’s forceful message about protecting our democracy, Indivisible helped draw attention to GOP extremism in key states.
Indivisible is excited to once again be a part of rallying the Democratic coalition together by making this endorsement of President Biden early in the cycle, with much planning still ahead. So far this year, Indivisible has committed to keeping Arizona blue and to flipping the 18 Biden-won Republican House districts.
