Washington, D.C. — Today, Indivisible, one of the nation’s largest grassroots organizations, announced its endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for President following an overwhelming vote from its members in all fifty states and the District of Columbia, with more than 93% of Indivisible members voting in favor of endorsing Kamala Harris for President:
“Indivisible is beyond proud today to join President Biden in announcing its endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris to be the 47th president of the United States,” said Ezra Levin, co-founder and co-executive director of Indivisible.
“We’ve been in close conversation with the local leaders of our movement over the past few weeks. We’ve heard from Indivisibles across the country that Kamala Harris’s name at the top of the ticket will be a fresh opportunity to excite new volunteers, bring new energy to the work and start new conversations with voters. From across our movement, there is a clear consensus that Vice President Harris is the leader for this moment. We know we need every single vote, and our movement is excited to show up and make that happen.
“The Indivisible movement began as a movement to stop Trumpism. Defeating Trump and stopping MAGA extremism is our north star. The consensus is clear. There is no doubt in our minds: Rallying around the Vice President is the way to beat Donald Trump.
“Because the Indivisible movement’s power is ultimately in community-by-community local organizing, we are also encouraging Indivisible groups to locally run their own endorsement processes and announce them in their communities, and to hold events to welcome Kamala Harris to the top of the ticket. “
“In Kamala Harris, we know we will have a nominee running on a decades-long record of accomplishments and public service. She’s been a champion for reproductive freedom and democracy. She’s been an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, at a time when MAGA Republicans are trying to turn back the clock and strip women of their freedom and self-determination. She’s stood up to Donald Trump’s fascism fearlessly.
“We know that we’ve only seen the beginning of what Kamala Harris can do, as a candidate and a leader. When Senator Harris held the Trump administration’s feet to the fire on the Senate Judiciary Committee and called out Trump’s extremist Supreme Court nominees for all their failings, our movement applauded. When presidential candidate Harris brought her brilliant tenacity to the debate stage, our movement was inspired, as reflected in moments like Harris’s lead in our 2019 post-debate poll results. This cycle, our tireless Indivisible leaders in Arizona have gotten to see her in action on the campaign trail, championing reproductive freedom. They know and we know she’s an incredible communicator on the issues that matter most.
“Everything we care about is on the ballot this November. We can and will use our people power to win: to elect Kamala Harris, expand our majorities, and reclaim our rights and democracy.”
